13pin Plugs and Sockets

13 pin Euro trailer / caravan plugs will supply all road lighting that used to be supplied on a 12N plug and the ancillary Electrics that used to be supplied by the 12S socket for Power and charging circuits + reverse lights. 13 pin electrics are becoming very common and beginning to replace older 7 pin trailer electrics. 13 pin plugs have a twist lock and seal that enables them to fix securely to the rear of your towing vehicle, securing a good connection. The 13 pin Plugs and sockets have become more popular over recent years as Caravans have come with 13 pin euro plugs fitted as standard since 2008 and in 2012 the introduction of type approval for trailers has brought the need for reverse lights on braked trailers meaning that a 7 pin plug is no longer suitable for these trailers. Most braked trailers are now been manufactured with 13 pin Euro plugs fitted as standard with an 8 core cable.
